I’m sure most people can relate to the random periods of time when you are so busy at work that you don’t even have time to write down everything you need to do. Usually, when I’m waiting for my coffee to cool in the morning, I open up my journal, find the next clean page and bullet out the action items that need to be tackled for the day. Most days I have time think through the day, list everything out and proceed to be productive, crossing items off one-by-one.
Well, this week it’s just not happening for me. Looking back at the past week of short lists, it’s obvious every morning I’ve hit the ground running as soon I press the espresso button. Zero time to even write down the day’s tasks. This extended circumstance is seriously bothersome and I recognize I need to get more organized, but ironically I’m able to navigate work fog…
Today marks day seven of the Whole30 challenge and I’ve been meaning to post my 30-day goals, but I think this hand-written, self-reflection worksheet will be more insightful: Food for Thought. The most noticeable change is my overall mood. I feel happier and my mind feels clear. It’s odd to trying to explain, but I just feel more present in every moment. Never in a million years would I think my diet effected my state-of-mind. Cray! I’m really looking forwarding seeing where this goes…
Although, Dave and I are going camping this weekend and I feel a cheat vino drink and/or s’more in my future. Eeepp! This is how I’m roughly feeling right now at the office:

Stepping away from food-osophy, I’m not 100% percent convinced my diet is helping my workouts just seven days into the challenge, but I flew through today’s workout (again):
- 5 rounds (weight of choice)
- 4 Power Clean
- 4 Thruster
- 4 Push Press
- 4 Overhead Walking Lunge (4 steps)
- 24 Situps
When I first eyed this WOD I instantly knew the weight needed to be manageable for this to be unbroken. I went with 55lbs and finished at 10:30. Was 65lb possible? Yes, but instead, I opted for a clean workout without possible injury, especially with the awkward lunges.
I’m hoping this energy keeps up as I’m started to feel a little broken down after the past two WODs. Fingers crossed tomorrow is simple stuff…HA!
