Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I can’t believe next week is September…where the hell did August go? I blame the Whole30 for this whirlwind month. 🙂
As I mentioned, this weekend was pretty relaxing. Friday night I met up with Dave and a few friends at the SF Giants game. It’s hard to believe that last year we could watch the games live from our apartment in Mission Bay. Memories…
It was a great win over the Braves and we had a wonderful time catching up with our friends, including fellow Crossfitter, Gabe.
Saturday turned out to be an unintentional rest day, which really bummed me out; however, I have to admit that my trips to the spa, Storables and Michaels were worth it. By now you might have picked up that I’m slightly OCD–let’s just say Storables is quite possibly my all-time favorite store. I would put it above Nordstrom and that’s sayin’ a lot. As I was skipping up and down the aisles I stumbled upon some key lunch pack items, including a water bottle that I have been seeking out for a couple weeks now.
Would you look at that glorious set-up? Try to contain your excitement as you feast your eyes on the included ice packs. BOOM.
After that container-freak out, I dragged Dave into Michael’s to see if they had their Halloween inventory out. Of course, my sixth-Halloween sense was right and I was once again the crazy girl buying spooky decorations in August. Now, let me set the record straight: I LOVE Halloween, especially the decorations, but I’m not into the whole gore, blood-let-me-make-my-house-a-creep-show type of deal. All about the glitter and cute pumpkins. Here’s what I picked up:
Fast forward to Sunday (today) and our little family spent the morning toolin’ around Menlo Park’s Famers’ Market. Overall, good little drag of local vendors, but it can’t compare to Campbell’s (side note: Campbell is my hometown, therefore I love everything about that town).
I do need to give a shout out to the awesome farmer who hooked up these sunflowers for three bucks. Holler!
Here’s our bounty for the week (all under $30):
Pretty impressive haul, no?
I can’t believe I have less than five days left of the Whole30. I’ll save my sentiments for a post after the program, but I can’t wait to share my results with everyone. As Dave says, “It’s gonna be cray.”
I’ll be wrapping up the weekend with a power vinyasa class at peacebank yoga studio and the season finale of True Blood!
Question of the day: Do you shop at local farmers’ markets or produce stands? If so, where??
