Oh hey, remember me? Apologies for the break in posts. I definitely needed the reset. To recap the month of December: I was sick. Sadly, I went down for the count – as in, couldn’t take a deep breath without hacking up a lung. It was awful. There was a lot of NyQuil and sniffles involved, but most importantly – I missed out on some great CrossFit action.
Yet, here we are: 2013 and I don’t know about you, but I have a feeling it’s going to be the best one yet. Side note: I’ve always found the number 13 to be my secret lucky number…
I held off posting my new year’s resolutions until today because I’m rebellious I prefer goals to resolutions. Maybe it’s because I’m more goal-oriented than most, but I can’t wrap my mind around, “My resolution is to cut coupons every week.” I’m not saying that isn’t a respectable resolution, but for me – “cut more coupons” is a more realistic idea. Make sense?
I’m also guilty of having too many fitness goals. This year, I’m keeping it simple:
Three solid, attainable goals. All three I will be extremely proud of and I can’t wait to document the adventure.
Sure, there’s things on my mind that I still want to tackle (like a sprint triathlon), but these babies are on the board. It’s happening.
Without giving a play-by-play of my holiday break – I have to share one really cool experience: Aerial Yoga. Yes, you read that right. My good friend Catherine and I celebrated my belated birthday by hanging on some cloth and doing some cray moves.
Catherine did manage to snap a picture of me all wrapped up, and trust me, after all the holiday indulgences, I felt like a pig in a hammock.
So without going into all the silly details, 2012 wrapped up in a blur. Good friends, good food and good drinks. Did I mention it’s day two of my second Whole30? As this timeline perfectly outlines, I’m currently in the “hangover” mode. Serious hangover mode. I really got after the sweets during the holidays and I can tell my body is going to have a tough time adjusting back to clean eating. Stay tuned this month on all my mood swings, tiger blood energy and overall dietary reset…
