Epic start to a blog post, right!? It’s my last week at my current company and the days are winding down quick! Next week I’ll be starting my new gig as the global social media manager at a consumer electronics company. Pretty exciting! I’ve kept the news unwraps (for obviously reasons) and it’s finally hitting me – I only have a day left!
Okay on to the fitness stuff. Yesterday ending up being a rest day, and boy did I need it. I was a total space case all day and I felt like a slug. Ugh. Luckily, today I snapped out of it and felt like I was going to springboard out of bed.
Today’s WOD was bomb dot com:
- 10 EMOM @ 95# (choose your weight)
- 2 Power Cleans
- 1 Jerk
- Rest 90 secs
- 5 RFT @ 75# (choose your weight)
- 3 Power Cleans
- 3 Hang Cleans
- 3 Jerks
It felt like forever since we did power cleans and I F’n love them. My form was a little off and I could instantly feel it (particularly my right knee coming in on the pull — what’s up with that??).
Part uno was fun – more like a warm-up to the second part – when things got interesting. I finished at 4:12 and my forearms were on fire. Why? It’s my fault:
Baby blood blister. Ew. The first couple of rounds I just death-gripped the bar – hence the blister and blown-out grip. Super, especially because I’m having henna applied to my palms before a friend’s Indian wedding reception today. Hook grip always, kiddos!
Overall, killer sprint WOD that left me out of breath for a minute – the best kind!
The Whole30 is still going strong – breakfast today was the usual and lunch was leftover paleo bolognese from Practical Paleo.
