Did this blog title give you flashbacks to high school? I did for me. I first read this non-fiction book in spirituality class my senior year and sadly, I can’t recite the “lessons” without referencing my bookshelf. However, I still remember the general theme of living everyday to the fullest and to love unconditionally…
Without diving into the meaning of life, I want to state that I’ve been doing some self reflection recently (especially after my birthday) and found that I like lists. There, I said it: I like lists. Make no mistake, I don’t mean bucket lists because that leads my imagination to a grave and I hate that. What I really mean is “life lists”. Goals have become my new thing. If you know me, you’ll agree that I’m not the crazy goal setter that gets hung up on metrics so no need to fret about this “life list” talk–I just want to create a “30 before 30” list. Thirty things I’d like to accomplish before I turn 30.
Seeing that I’m slightly OCD, the list will be broken up into three groups of ten:
- Experiences (i.e., seeing the great barrier reef)
- Crossfit (i.e., 300 double-unders — dammit!)
- Tuesdays with Morries aka TWMs (i.e., tell my family I love them every time I have the chance – the “soft goals”)
Being the resourceful girl that I can be, I surveyed my friends on Facebook and already have a great list of suggestions! I’ll also create new tab “30 before 30” and there you’ll be able to track my progress as the time rolls on (hopefully, with check marks next to each item).
The “30 before 30” will not be perfect nor free of my initial revisions, but take a look and let me know what you think in the comments:

Thoughts? What would your short-term, “life list” include? Thinking mine’s a work-in-progress for a couple more days…
OK I haven’t forgotten this is a fitness blog so here’s today’s WOD for those of you who are sick of all this YOLO chit-chat:
1 Hang Squat Snatch
1 Squat Snatch
EMOM 10min @ 55lbs
-then-
15-12-9
Power snatch @ 55lbs
Push Press
The first half felt like a warm-up after the first couple of rounds and I wish I went slightly heavier (I was just being a baby about the OH part…). The met-con was awesome and I managed to finish at 6:25–not bad considering my quads are still frozen from Fran’s wrath on Saturday. More on that later…
Shout out to my Grandpa today! He’s 85 years-young and inspires me to live a healthy lifestyle everyday. Love you!
