I’ve been in an odd mood the past couple of days. You know those days when everything around you is falling apart and you’re left scratching your head? Recently, it has been one unfortunate event after another–it’s hard not to feel awkward and wonder when the next set of bad news will be delivered. Definitely an uneasy feeling.
On a much lighter note, Barbara is one hell of a bitch. For some silly (yet totally genius) reason, classic Crossfit WODs were named after women. There are also a few WODs that are named after men and, of course there’s the Hero WODs…Basically, any “named” WOD is brutal, especially the women–because well, us women are crazy.
And Barbara is no exception:
- 20 pull-ups
- 30 push-ups
- 40 sit-ups
- 50 air squats
- 5 rounds (optional 3 minute rest between rounds)
You read that right–five rounds. It was rough and you better believe I used up my 3 minutes between each round. Total time: 34:28. After the first round I was like, “Hey that wasn’t so bad…oh wait, there’s four more rounds. Super.” Honestly, toward the end I don’t know how I completed a full sit-up–I would get a quick upward movement, then just struggle to lean forward.
This is exactly how I was walking during my cool down:
Legs = Jell-o.
Now, question of the day: If you could program the WOD that would be named after you, what would it be?? Post in the comments!
I’m going to have to think about that, but my initial thought includes deadlifts, running and pull-ups (only because I’m sooo close to a kipping pull-up)…

What on earth is that guy in the animation trying to attempt? hahaha!

Initially, I thought he had just completed a race…then I thought he was doing the invisible limbo or drunk limbo combo? LOL.

My WOD would be 5 rounds of Deadlifts, box jumps, rope climbs, pull ups, and HSPU’s. Not sure about reps of each though…
