Last night was a success for Dave’s birthday. First he was spoiled with new Reebok Crossfit Nano 2.0s (among other gear) and then we headed over to downtown Palo Alto for dinner and drinks with some friends.
Overall, great night with even better company. And surprisingly, Dave managed to survive the night relatively unscathed and we managed get over to our complex’s gym for a quick workout:
Partner WOD (inspired by today’s programming from Norcal Crossfit)
- While one person does a handstand hold, the other does 50 DB single-arm snatches. Switch once completed.
- While one person holds a DB over head, the other does 50 SDHP with two DBs. Switch.
- While one person holds a squat, the other does 50 sit-ups. Switch.
- While one person runs 400m, the other holds a plank. Switch.
Needless to say, my shoulders/arms are shaking as I type this post. Holy moly! Very satisfying workout and one that most people can do in complex or hotel gyms–if you have a treadmill (or a place to run) and a set of DBs, you can crank this one out.
I’m taking tomorrow off, but I plan to take a long walk through town with Roise Pup and maybe visit peacebank yoga for a relaxing class. We shall see. For now, I need to get ready for more celebrating tonight and clean up! Cheers!!
